The purpose of this section is to let museums and other tribes know about collection items, opportunities, and programming that your tribe would like to be contacted about. Tribes: If relevant, include a general description of topics that your tribe would like to connect with other tribes about. For example, you might want to learn about other tribe’s experiences in regard to collaborating with museums on specific issues.

About Statement

The purpose of this section is to provide an overview in five to ten sentences of your tribe to museum partners and if relevant, tribal partners. If information about your tribe’s historic homeland is available to your tribe and you would like to share it, include a written note about and/or a map of the geographic range of your historic homeland. This can potentially be useful to museums as they seek to identify tribes associated with collections in their possession given different methods for associating cultural items with regional geographies.

Tribal Organizations and Initiatives

The purpose of this section is to provide information about work that your tribe is doing in relation to history and culture so that potential museum partners and/or tribal partners can consider possible synergies between their work, interests, and experiences and your tribe’s work, interests, and experiences.
